Teaching method Course based learning

Course based learning

Do you prefer knowing what is expected of you and what the frameworks are? Do you prefer having scheduled instruction times, guidance and coaching? Do you get enthusiastic about assignments based on actual practice in which your instructor gives you extra support at the start?

With the course-based teaching method, you know what you will be studying in advance and what your learning activities will be. The lessons, the workshops, the guidance and the projects in practice have been planned by the teachers beforehand. You get frequent feedback on the lessons, during the guidance moments and on the submitted assignments.
The order of the learning activities is also established in advance. This provides structure and the assurance of knowing to expect. Once you have good theoretical knowledge, you will start learning how to apply it in practice.

Nicolas's choice

My name is Nicolas! My friends describe me as goal-oriented, helpful, punctual and a hard worker.

I currently live with a few other students in Eindhoven. I am from Bulgaria and I have experience in programming in C. I am mostly interested in the fields of Software Engineering and Applied Data Science.

"I like structure and predictability"

I like structure and predictability: scheduled lessons and regular guidance appointments and knowing which assignments I am expected to complete by myself or in a group gives me a clear overview of the semester and what is expected of me.

I also like to practice certain skills during or after class, with and without the supervision of the instructor. These skills will certainly be handy when I become a Software engineer.
